joyful noise
🎶Music. My love. My life.🎶
God gave me the beautiful opportunity to learn to read music at a very young age. Kudos to my first grade teacher Ms. Zeagle at Chiaramonte Elementary in Tampa! If anyone knows where she is please give her a huge hug for me and give her my information! (insert smiley face)
🎤And singing is one of God’s gentlest gifts to the human soul. It lifts what feels heavy, steadies what feels shaken, and awakens what feels forgotten. When we sing—whether in joy, sorrow, or quiet reflection—our spirit steps into a rhythm that reminds us we were created to commune with God. It doesn’t need to be loud, professional, or on a grand stage. It can be in the quiet posture of your own heart.
📖 Scripture tells us, “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing unto the Lord, all the earth.” (Psalm 96:1). Singing is not just an act of worship; it is an act of alignment. It pulls our emotions, our thoughts, and our faith back into harmony. It is a spiritual reset button, a way to breathe again when life feels tight.
⚔️ Even in moments of battle or uncertainty, God uses singing as a weapon of victory. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas sang hymns in prison—and heaven responded. Singing opens the atmosphere for God to move. When your soul sings, your faith rises. When your faith rises, your life shifts.
In Exodus 15, Moses and the Israelites sang a powerful song of victory after God saved them from the Egyptian army.
In Revelation 5 & 7, John describes there will be a cloud of witnesses of every tribe, people, and nations singing before God’s throne.
đź’ FOCUS Thought
"Your voice is an instrument God placed in you to release peace, healing, and strength. When you sing, you give your soul permission to breathe again."
👣 FOCUS Steps
1. Choose Your Song — Pick one hymn or worship song that speaks to your current season. Let it become your daily anchor for this upcoming week.
2. Sing Intentionally — Don’t rush. Sing slowly, breathe deeply, and let the words settle into your spirit.
3. Create a Sacred Space — Light a candle, sit by a window, or step outside. Give your soul a place to open.
4. Reflect After Singing — Write one sentence about how your spirit feels after you sing. Notice the shift.
5. Share the Sound — Send a song to someone who needs encouragement. Singing strengthens communities, not just individuals.
Not everyone has the voice of an angel or as a celebrity worship leader or a professional artist, but EVERY ONE can lift a joyful sound to The Saviour! Be intentional about listening to quality music which will shift the quality of your singing.
